We are
.
As different as we come, we share one thing in common: our personal commitment to transform the patient experience with empathy.

Aaron’s superpower is that his passion is infectious - he gets people excited about doing well by doing good. Growing up with human growth hormone deficiency inspired his mission to create technology that puts patients at the center of their own healthcare.
Aaron is a maker at heart; on a daily basis, you can catch him switching easily from building new business partnerships to carving foam prototypes. Perhaps more than anything, Aaron loves being in the ocean - surfing, diving, and splashing around.

Joel leads engineering and development, from prototype to mass production. Day to day, he draws from a background in mechanical engineering, software development, and clinical research, along with a deep commitment to improving quality of life for people in their most vulnerable moments.
Joel is curious and persistent, and finds joy in shaping complex and sometimes abstract challenges into structure and process. Two of his favorite hobbies are fly fishing and cooking.

Lindsey leads our Clinical Companions program, working day-to-day with our incredible partners in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries to help engage, educate, and retain patients in pediatric clinical trials around the world. Lindsey’s role draws upon her dedication to pediatrics from her time at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as her extensive background in quality, operations, and clinical program management in early-stage and commercial medtech startups.
While she grew up in South Florida and studied at the University of Miami, Lindsey has always been a northerner at heart. When she’s not in the office, there’s a good chance she's out hiking, skiing, or surfing in the greater New England area.

Sam knows a thing or two about bringing joy to hospitalized children! She spent over a decade with Starlight Children’s Foundation’s US office and enCourage Kids Foundation, overseeing all program development, creation, and measurement while managing relationships with more than 900 hospital partners.
At Empath Labs, Sam heads up our My Special Aflac Duck and Rufus the Bear programs, running all aspects of program development and distribution. Outside of the office you’ll find Sam surrounded by furry friends, sewing, or puzzlin!

A veteran of the toy and game industry, Dan is behind many of the fan-favorite toys that our families grew up with, spearheading products like GigaPets and introducing new categories to Hasbro, like Plug & Play TV Games.
Bringing his skills to Empath Labs has led to the most fulfilling work of his life. Here, Dan runs human resources, manufacturing, and logistics, helping to build the global network of collaborators who bring our products to life. A gearhead since high school, he most recently took a 1955 Chevy from an engine-less rolling shell to a running, driving show car, in tribute to his late father.

Rico has more than 30 years experience in the toys and consumer industry, working with teams for plastics, soft goods, and electronics projects across a range of technologies including audio, video, RF, and telecommunications. Rico oversees Empath Lab's network of experts and resources in the Asia region across the full development cycle of prototyping, development, manufacturing, and quality assurance.

Brian is the man behind the apps that our users know and love. At Empath Labs, Brian develops effective and engaging tools, combining his experience developing clinical trial software with his time spent at an indie game development studio.
Growing up, a close friend was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, and Brian saw firsthand how difficult that could be. Joining Empath Labs to help create Jerry the Bear and assist other families going through similar times was the perfect opportunity to give back. In his free time, Brian enjoys AcroYoga, bikepacking, and, as one very casually does, mountain unicycling.

Industrial design extraordinaire, Nick led the design of our latest product launch, Purrble. Here at Empath Labs, he does everything from prototyping to design for manufacturing. It’s in healthcare that his love for making and creating meets the need to create a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
Previously, Nick led the design of Joy for All, an award-winning line of robotic companion pets for seniors at Hasbro. Always thoughtful and ever-reliable, we’ll leave you with one warning about Nick - watch out for his dangerous Photoshop skills. Outside work, you will find him figuring out how to hold his first home together.

Megan consults with Empath Labs as our part-time controller, bringing more than 10 years of experience and expertise to managing financial systems for quality and accuracy.
